In an age of Sirius radio, mp3's, iPods, iTunes and Pandora, who calls
in to the radio stations anymore to request a song?

People in Chicago crowd the left hand lane just because they want to
be in the fast lane - even if the middle lane is going faster than
them. They will stay in that lane until a quarter mile before their
exit and cut over

I had this picnic table as a kid. My parents sanded it and painted it and gave it to the kids...

It has been a looong time since I have done one of my normal blog posts with a bunch of pictures - actually it's been about 2 months. We have a good excuse. The move kept us quite busy. And then there were all of Sharis' posts - how am I supposed to compete with that?
We have a ton of pictures so I will try to get some of them out to you.

Ryan NEVER got to sleep in our bed in the morning - I don't really know why that is. But Colvin seems to get an early morning feeding in our bed about 2 times a week - and sometimes she ends up taking her morning nap here as well. Isn't she precious?

Here is a picture from the State Fair that I forgot to post on Sunday. Ryan loved all the trucks and machines. More pictures to come.

This is the park by our new house. It is gorgeous but there is NO ONE here on a Friday afternoon. Must not be very popular. It is going to take me a while to get used to all these things about MN - no traffic, parks aren't flooded with kids ... Ok, I'm used to it

Wow! This move has got us all crazy and running ragged. I've been wanting to post for over a week now that Colvin is now officially rolling masterfully from her back to her front (she had been doing the front to back thing for about a month and a half). She has also found her hands and watches them move and puts them together to bring them to her mouth. I remember when Ryan found his (which was a bit later) and am always so amused by watching the kids get to this point. I don't think babies realize that they are attached to their body at this age and that cracks me up. She's still a fantastic baby and LOVES her big brother. She turns to look at him whenever he enters the room. Today they were playing together and it was the sweetest thing. Colvin also is still quite happy. Full of smiles and a few laughs for me lately. I love when she talks to me and am going to miss that sound when she grows out of it. I anticipate she will be quite verbal though. Dan is waiting for a non-talker so that he can bond with him/her in their non-communicative ways.
And always a Ry Ry story:
We were at the lake all last week and before we left I put up his video monitor. I had a very serious talk with him about not trying to play with it from his crib (long story short, we are still settling in so the monitor isn't "super-rigged" for safety from toddlers like I had it in Chicago). Two nights ago I see him on the video monitor pointing elephant towards it. So curious, I turn up the sound. He is saying, "E-phant. No Ry Ry touch dis, no Ry Ry touch dis. No dis, no dis." And he is showing elephant the receiver and the plug in the wall, exactly as I had told him. First, he remembered for over a week and second, he obeyed! Melts your heart when your kids listen. So cute.
