Our New House

When we found out that we were pregnant, Sharis told me by giving me a set of Legos which were my favorite toy as a kid. So I built us a house - complete with a white picket fence.

We Told Our Families

We told both of our families over Thanksgiving weekend. We told the Longs when we arrived in Cleveland on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Because Sharis was busting at the seams to tell her family, we couldn't wait until Ben got there the next day.

Sharis wanted to tell her family by giving her Mom and Dad some toys they could have for when their grandchild visits. Some of her favorite toys as a kid were the colored ring stacking game, See 'n' Say and the book The Giving Tree. Paula knew right away what was going on and she was really excited. However, she didn't really tell everyone else what was going on. It took them a few more seconds to figure it out. Kyle thought the games were given to his parents so they could improve their dexterity as they were getting old. Everyone was very excited.

Then we were able to tell my parents via speakerphone. Luckily Kerry was there as well. They were cooking for Thanksgiving the next day. Unfortunately we couldn't tell them in person. They were very excited to hear the news as well.

So now we just have to wait a bit before we tell people outside the family.

We found out this morning that Sharis is pregnant! We are very excited and can't wait to tell everyone.
